The
potential side effects of a restricted calorie diet and the use of hCG, such as
DVT (deep vein thrombosis), hair loss and nausea make the program unsafe.
As with all weight loss programs, we recommend that you consult a physician to determine if the program is right for each client based on their health, medical history and personal weight loss needs. That is why a Nuviva physician will meet with and complete a full medical evaluation on each client before beginning the program to determine if the Nuviva program is appropriate. This assessment includes a medical history, full blood panel, an EKG and blood pressure testing. This is done not only to assess ones overall health and well–being, but also to evaluate whether the medications utilized as part of the program will be appropriate for each client.
There
are certain medical issues that will disallow a client from using some or all
of the program’s medications and/or hCG. An example would be women with a prior
history of DVT, especially while receiving hCG for treatment of infertility. A
woman with this medical condition would not be a candidate for the Nuviva
program. Additionally, hair loss and nausea are signs of nutritional deficiency
and should not occur on our program if done properly. Patients that experience
these symptoms would have their calories increased or have their
diet/supplements reviewed to make sure they are appropriate.
